The Partnership Agreement, created over the past few months by the two entities to define jointly the most efficient modes of collaboration, was signed in Paris by the CEO of Airbus Safran Launchers, Alain Charmeau, and Bruno Sainjon, the CEO of ONERA.
On the occasion of the International Forum for Aviation Research IFAR, held in Daejeon (South Korea), Bruno Sainjon, CEO of ONERA, and Dr Jaiwon Shin, Associate Administrator for the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate at NASA, signed an agreement specifying the terms of an enhanced bilateral scientific cooperation for 4 years on the subject of reducing aircraft noise.
In orbit since April, Microscope (MICROSatellite à trainée Compensée pour l’Observation du Principe d’Équivalence) is pursuing functional tests before its scheduled switch to mission mode at the end of the year. Teams at CNES and the French aerospace research agency ONERA are currently gearing up for the science phase of the mission with the first ultra-precise measurements acquired by the satellite.
