Model Deformation Measurements

The real-time model deformation measurement (MDM) and positioning is important information during wind tunnel tests.

The model is equipped with adhesive markers, essentially on its wings.

The calibration phase of the MDM system used a reference test pattern. It is possible to define all the calibration parameters of the two cameras: relative position, viewing angles, focus and distortions.

Using the method of processing based on epipolar geometry (the application of projective geometry techniques), the three marker coordinates were deduced from any image pair.

This technique is available in F1, S1MA and S2MA in industrial conditions.
