Research activities

Main research topics:

  • Estimation and control of dynamic systems: model predictive control, moving horizon estimation, control and estimation for constrained systems, set-theoretic methods, stability analysis,
  • Multi-agent systems: distributed control, consensus, formation control, event-triggered communications, distributed model predictive control,
  • Distributed state estimation and sensor networks,
  • Mixing machine learning and control theory, deep reinforcement learning control with safety certificates,
  • Applications to autonomous robotic and aerospace systems: Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), multi-vehicles coordination and cooperation, low cost sensor networks, field experiments, mission analysis of satellites and space systems, space debris trajectory estimation,
  • Risk analysis: probabilistic risk assessment, ground risk assessment for UAVs, links to regulations - SORA, risk and vulnerability analysis of satellites wrt space debris,
  • Control education.

Supervising activities (last update 2024):

  • 8 PhD students (6 completed),
  • > 30 Master's Degree students (internships),
  • student projects (robotics).
