The sixth issue of Aerospace Lab, the Onera International Journal, is on line. Its is devoted to flow control.

On July 4th, 2013, the ONERA Fauga Mauzac center, near Toulouse, inaugurated LIMA, ONERA's research platform to develop the use of new airborne imaging technologies.

ONERA has patented the principle of a low-cost device that significantly secures recreational aviation. The company Flarm Technology GmbH has developed the technology under license from Onera. With GPS data and a radio transceiver, FLARM locates other aircraft, gliders or drones equipped with Flarm flying nearby and offers the pilot a situational awareness that makes it possible to avoid midair collisions or collisions when landing. This system was made mandatory in France for gliders by an FFVV (French Gliding Federation) decision in March 2013.

A team from ONERA made a laser source based on optical fibers in the laboratory, which generates a 1.7 kW peak at 1580nm suitable for measuring CO2. This is a record for this wavelength that is not very favorable for fibered technology. Challenge: the monitoring of global warming from space.

From 10 to 14 June 2013 in Hyères, a hundred of delegates from the Franco-Singaporean joint laboratory SONDRA   met for the 3rd Workshop SONDRA. The topics were EM modeling, radar and remote sensing.

ONERA M6 wing, created in the 70s, is known to all aerodynamicists in the world. It serves as a reference to validate CFD methods. Here, ONERA-M6 wing is used for studies regarding the accuracy of new computing techniques (Aghora Project).
