Software
CRIPTE (Calcul sur Réseaux des Interactions Perturbatrices en Topologie Electromagnétique / Calculation for Networks of Interference Interactions in Electromagnetic Topology). This software, developed at ONERA in 1990, can be used to simulate the propagation of electrical signals and the problems of electromagnetic compatibility on complex cable harnesses.
It takes into account all installation conditions in any 3D environment and can be coupled with 3D codes. In 2016, major upgrades were made to the code to increase the volume capacity of the network models and reduce significantly the computation times.
The Z-set software suite, co-developed by ONERA and MINES Paris-Tech, consists in modules dedicated to understanding the mechanics of materials: behaviour, service life, resistance, cracking.
The Z-cracks module simulates the trajectory and spread speed of cracks in thermo-mechanical fatigue configurations: just like industrial applications where the components undergo cyclical loads at extremely high temperatures.
Knowledge and understanding of cracking make it possible to optimise the design and maintenance of parts.
Test resources
COPERNIC laboratory (Commande et PErception Robotique pour la Navigation, l'Interprétation et la Coopération / Robotic Control and Perception for Navigation, Interpretation and Operation) Experimental laboratory responsible for developing onboard intelligence solutions for micro-robotics. It combines ONERA's skills in computerised perception and vision with its control and planning skills, to perform demos of autonomous and collaborative robotics. The COPERNIC research topics include sensors/processing co-design, geometric vision for localisation and 3D modelling, control, collaborative control and planning. COPERNIC also includes a major hardware engineering activity (sensors, onboard computation solutions and platforms) for producing proofs of concepts in realistic experimental robotics environments.
GRIFON bench (Générateur de Recherche sur l’Impact de la Foudre de l’ONera / ONERA Lightning impact research generator)
GRIFON is a generator for testing the direct effects of lightning on materials. The principle of these tests is to apply an arc of lightning carrying a standardised current to the material.
Conceived for R&D, the initial version of the test bed was designed in 2010. It was upgraded in 2013 to offer greater flexibility of use while offering high instrumentation possibilities. It can now be used for generating DBC or BCD waveforms, according to the SAE ARP5412 standard.
