Aerial Robotics
The 8th issue of AerospaceLab, the ONERA International Journal, is on line and is devoted to Aerial robotics. See www.aerospacelab-journal.org""
During recent years there has been an emergence of small unmanned aerial vehicles that can be used for inspection or surveillance applications.
With the constant miniaturization and cost reduction of electronic components, such as inertial measurement units, vision sensors and micro-processors, aerial vehicles weighting only a few kilograms can now benefit from advanced technologies that were used before only for full scale aircraft. This opens the door to ever more sophisticated machines, with strong perception and action autonomy.
The seven first issues, still on line, were respectively dedicated to:
- Optical Diagnostics of Flows
- CFD Platforms and Coupling
- High Temperature Materials
- Mastering Complexity
- Lightning Hazards to Aircraft and Launchers
- Flow Control: the Renewal of Aerodynamics?
- Aeroacoustics
The next one will present advances on Life Prediction Methodologies for Materials and Structures.
