ODAS 2017 in Aussois, a successful event!
The 17th ONERA-DLR symposium took place in Aussois, near Modane, from June 7 to June 9, 2017. 35 participants from ONERA and the DLR gathered to discuss the subject of numerical flow simulation (CFD) and the related validation experiments.
Twenty-three quality discussions focused on the external aerodynamic problems relating to fixed or rotating wings, as well as on reactive, two-phase or heat-transfer flows.
The proximity to the ONERA centre in Modane-Avrieux allowed a visit to the wind tunnels, which stirred quite a lot of interest among all of the participants.
The award for the best paper presented by a researcher under 35 years of age was given to Ye-Bonne Koyama, from ONERA, for the paper “Experimental/numerical investigation of a leading-edge vortex on a propeller blade”.
These three days were the occasion for fruitful exchanges between the two bodies and should lead to new joint projects.
